How the e-commerce break-even price works

What is a break-even selling price?

The break-even selling price is the minimum amount you need to charge to cover the costs included in the calculation. At this level, the estimated profit is approximately zero.

Why RTO matters

For COD orders, not every order may be delivered. The calculator includes expected RTO cost and reduces the revenue rate according to the entered RTO percentage.

Include advertising cost

If you acquire customers through paid advertising, ad cost per order is part of the cost of making a sale. Leaving it out can make the break-even price look artificially low.

Add profit above break-even

Break-even is a floor, not a target selling price. After finding the floor, add your desired profit and a safety buffer for costs that may vary.

Use actual business costs

Courier charges, payment fees, marketplace fees, advertising performance and return rates can vary. Replace the sample values with your own numbers for a more useful estimate.
